Quiet Time by naomi

Quiet Time

“Winter reminds us that everyone and everything needs some quiet time” - Katrina Mayer

I’d completely forgotten that I bought this gorgeous print by Stacie Swift (check her out: https://www.stacieswift.com - her stuff is gorgeous and my house contains many of her prints/postcards/artwork) from The Blurt Foundation (blurtitout.org) back when I first moved in. I found it today whilst cleaning. So I’ve hung it on my bedroom wall because I think it’s a good reminder.

Things feel a bit ick right now. Work is going well. It’s very rewarding and I’m enjoying it. I’m just exhausted the rest of the time and keep finding myself curled up crying on my bed. Both my appointments this week were cancelled which probably hasn’t helped. But I think I’m generally just really exhausted and so much has happened these last few weeks. It’s rough enough coming home after months on an eating disorder ward. But it feels even harder when diagnosed with a new intolerance and trying to balance budgeting, cooking and energy levels pretty much alone. On top of going back to work and everything else. I have a couple of things on tomorrow and Saturday but the rest of the weekend will be spent sat down. I then have one more week of work before a week of annual leave where I have very few plans. I need to slow down. (PS - sorry for the weird angle. I was trying to avoid showing you my whole room).
True quote and lovely print.

Very true- besides our seasons having a period of rest every 24 hour day has one too. Even though you're not feeling your best, you are still making wise choices or giving yourself a goal that will help you to feel better- so don't be discouraged. Lots of people feel exhausted at the end of the day so you're not alone there either. Keep planning those times of rest and play. Don't try to tackle everything at once. The folks who produce my supplements have the saying "one simple change". That has really helped me be more purposeful in eating better. (You may want to check them out- Juice Plus). You're going to make it- I know you will!

now that's a great quote, and even though I try and teach my children this (we need quiet time), I sometimes forget it for myself :-)
