@narayani I did too. I was always attracted to the bigger dogs. The dog my father had when I was a little kid was a spitz type but he seemed huge to me because I was a little kid and he came up to my waist. I envisioned having a waist high dog when I grew up. :D
My first dog was a Jack Russell Terrier. Though I was familiar with the breed before I got my own, I didn't completely appreciate that JRTs are essentially big wolves in small bodies until I lived with one. Probably most small dogs have a bit of that. Owning a JRT first has made all my subsequent small terrier mixes seem angelic in comparison. And, yes, I would have another JRT in a heartbeat. :D
Oh that is so sweet. I am also finding it's too hot for lap dogs - or bed dogs at the moment. Max and Charlie know that if they want me to get up they come and lie on top of me in the morning - one trying to nudge each hand. Doesn't take long before I am expiring of heat and have to get up!
Max is so sweet.
