I saw rememberance poppies outside a local church. The evening light created a translucent back-glow through the petals.
At the memorial I looked across the street. Wonderful street art on an empty shop front caught my eye. In that moment it seemed so poignant, appropriate.

The picture combination is quite striking and beautiful....i cannot help but think what those old soldiers from the first world war would make of today and wonder if it was worth it,perhaps girls in mini-skirts would edge their bets to say wow....but standing in Stockport town who's 1984 Big Brother's think more about road humps, cctv camera's on almost every street corner, traffic wardens, recycle bin police,..etc..etc...than putting up park benches for weary feet to rest and other such humane things would perhaps give the modern world the two fingers and cast a shadow on was it worth going over the top.
