I spent some time in a Graveyard the other day. I was taking photos for a client. I was shocked at how badly vandalised the gravestones were and how the whole site had been mistreated. It was a beautiful day, yet, I chose to make it look a bit sombre and sad. Graveyards should be beautiful places. This one was just broken. Some people are so disrespectful. It made me feel very sad.

Great capture, the B&W sets the mood! Its sad to see mistreatment of graveyards! I just visited my grandfathers and other distant relatives graves in Canada about a week ago.... Which I'm glad to see all of the graves sites we visited in New Brunswick, Canada were very well maintained.
well i'm going to be cremated because i don't want this to happen to me,we quite often hear of kids going on the rampage and destroying grave sites in Fremantle and Karrakatta cemetries in Western Australia.
The graveyard near to my home is also in a sad state. Most of the statues have been broken, tombstones vandalised etc. I've been wanting to go there and photograph but when I drive past and see the sorry sight, I'm afraid it may just depress me.
I just don't understand why people feel the need to despoil and destroy. I can only think they must be very troubled, but then there's plenty of people similarly afflicted who don't do this sort of thing, so you kind of lose any sympathy you might have had for the ones who do.
Sorry, will now get off soap box! Nice, atmospheric shot and treatment.
Some people don't have respect for anything or anyone. It's really sad how some of the parents these days raise(d) their kids. They have no respect for authority and think they can do as they please. If they don't like rules, they can cry wolf and land in foster care and once in the system, they are free to do anything. It was probably some of those kids who did it. The b&w does give it a very sad feeling. I think someone should go in there and fix them.
Such a shame - it's happening everywhere at the moment and a lot of old grave yards are being destroyed by local councils for various reasons. I belong to a family history site and there are reports of gravestones being smashed and graveyards cleared coming in from all over the country - looks like nothing is sacred any more :-(
Did you see any ghosts?
Sorry, will now get off soap box! Nice, atmospheric shot and treatment.
love the black and white here ... =)
