Vista [ best viewed large ]

Lots of compositional lines deployed in this one. What do you think - does it work?
Beautiful

Does for me! I like it.

beautiful scene
February 25th, 2012
is that a trick question? :-) i'd retake it without the stone on the right side to give a better perspective of the expanse. this way it makes me feel i'm missing something. but it is a beautiful shot nonetheless.

BEAUTIFUL enlarged! Love the vista . . the lighting and colors are fantastic, net. I love it just as it is . . the rocks form a great framing.
February 25th, 2012
It's lovely, but I think I'd retake/edit to lose the rock on the right...it keeps drawing my attention back to it versus inward.
February 25th, 2012
works for me, I like this shot and the sky is a plus.
February 25th, 2012
I want to be hiking here right now. Had the hip replaced last Tuesday and now on crutches for another 3 weeks, but one day.

ditto Anne. I like all the shapes and sizes but the rock on right is distracting to my eye rather than a frame that takes me in

It works...it draws your eyes in well...nice shot
February 25th, 2012
Love it! So many layers.
February 25th, 2012
I think it is beautiful, love the colours.

It's gorgeous! Very eye appealing shot! Well done!
February 25th, 2012
This is cool. Draws your eye in

Beautiful scene
February 25th, 2012
I think that it works. I love the interesting framing and all of the textures going on. Great shot!
February 25th, 2012
Viewed close up it comes into its own and we see the view thro more. However I like the rocks as a framing, lots of texture and different colours in them. Lovely shot.
February 25th, 2012
Is it Brimham Rocks?
I like the layers, and the different parts that draw your eye, but like others I'm not entirely sure about the rock on the right...
Nice shot though.
February 25th, 2012
Delightful rocks and view, nice composition
February 25th, 2012
I love how you framed the picture.
February 25th, 2012
well captured, but like others, I'd lose the rock on the right :)
February 25th, 2012
like the rocks framing leading out into the valley with the couple of people on the rocks to give an idea of size

Spectacular. Beautifully framed.

Cool formations. Remind me of some of my Tennessee shots.
February 25th, 2012
Oh man, Damon - I'm sooo there! Want to get my hiking boots right now. LOL That is one jumble of lines for sure, but leave it to you to make it work. :-) All my best, Les
February 25th, 2012
Wait a minute.......are those teeny, tiny people on the farthest rock???? That's where i want to have my picnic. :-) Take care, Les

Jen
I like the angles there's so much to see, and your eye is drawn all over
February 25th, 2012
I really like this shot - think I'd prefer it without the rock to the right, it detracts your eye from the rest of the scene because it's so dark....It is a great scene though and the light is great - love those people on the rock out there to define the scale
February 25th, 2012
I was just about to write pretty much exactly what @summerfield said!
Love the shot tho.
February 26th, 2012
yep it works! Marvelous colours! Busy and interesting
February 26th, 2012
Wonderful shot and I like the rock to the right I think it helps to frame the shot and brings a sense of calm to the shot. I love the people in the distance who add a sense of scale & interest to the shot :-)
February 26th, 2012
Great composition and colours well shot.
February 26th, 2012
I like it but it makes me feel like I am leaning to the right
February 26th, 2012
Beautiful scene, those rock formations are very interesting.
February 26th, 2012
great textures and tones - interesting composition
February 26th, 2012
would love to walk right into this scene. althou i like the color you have so many interesting shapes and textures in this captured that i found myself wondering what it would look like in b&w.

My goodness- I don't know how I missed so many of your shots! Yes, I think the lines work wonderfully. It's interesting to me that this view is very similar to some of the ones we see from the top of our mountains here. There's enough of a difference in the type of rock to know it's not PA. but the valley beyond looks so much like the ones here. Very pretty!
February 27th, 2012
That is a gorgeous view! I'm leaving your page up to peruse what I've missed! G'nite!
February 27th, 2012
It does work. Reminds me of Gettysburg a bit.
February 27th, 2012
Works for me. Love the textures!
February 27th, 2012
beautiful composition!
February 27th, 2012
i really like it! the framing on the right and bottom is nice, the colors are beautiful........and the subject matter, Mother Nature, is the best!
February 27th, 2012
There's a lot going on but I like it. The subject, colours and composition are pleasing, as is the framing. I think I would have liked the rock on the right (at the right edge) not to be quite so dark though.
February 27th, 2012
Yeh it sure does, looks awesome
March 2nd, 2012
I like it a lot. The streaks of cloud really add to it too.
March 6th, 2012
