Identify This No173

I have been a bit slack on Id This... so here is one to keep you going.

What is the funny object today?

More about "Identify This"... http://365project.org/netkonnexion/number03/2011-05-11

Definitely something different last time! I think a lot of people got caught by that one! It was in fact an Opteka Honeycombe Grid. This little baby is strapped onto the front of your off-camera flash. It is used to ensure that the flash goes only in one, tight direction. It is the opposite of a diffuser. It directs the light rather than diffuses it. Well, this was a difficult one. As always the scale thow people off. This part actually measures about 30mm across. So you are looking at about a quarter of the whole thing. Even so, it is a common item in photographic circles. Here is a picture... http://amzn.to/ySKt2c

Clever and correct people...

Ann H. LeFevre got closest. She should be commended for a clever interpretation. Nice one Ann!

Nancy Holte - I believe this is the bottom side of a bed of nails. :) Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!

summerfield - is this part of an SD card? There, i got sucked into guessing it. I've seen this somewhere though i just couldn't place it right now. Net says:-->> An SD card with holes in! Interesting. LOL... Nice try, but not quite there.

karenann - Some kind of air filter. I know. I failed miserably AGAIN! Net says:-->> Plausible - but no! Good effort tho'.

Peter de Graaff - Window Net says:-->> On what? LOL. Nice try.

Paula x2 Brumbe - fancy straw sculpture that is in the shape of a window to represent that open areas will suck the life out of you if you stand too close. Net says:-->> Intriguing but Oooops! No!

marlboromaam - I agree with Karenann. Looks like my heat pump filter for the air intake. Sure is unusual! Net says:-->> Sure ain't unusual! Seen in nearly every camera shop and photographic studio in the land. Grin.

Sue Wilde - @nana I'm with Nancy...this is definitely the underside of your bed of nails...now get onto it and suffer. Net says:-->> Tsk! Tsk! Difficult this one then? LOL.

Shirley Chetwynd - ummm is it the door to a microwave oven Net says:-->> Oh! Good effort! But no! LOL...

Kathy A - Some sort of filter? Net says:-->> Some sort of no! LOL. Plausible.

Bonnie Lusted - Nice pattern shot. This is a grid of some kind....or grating covering..... what? Net says:-->> Good effort, but not solved! Close tho'.

Alison Bailey - It's a honeycomb for The Hive from that Star Trek spin-off, the one with 7 of 9 in it. Net says:-->> Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yeeeehahy! LOL. Like that idea (and 7/9 too! Grin).

Paula Cook-Farkas -A beehive...or air conditioning filter. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!

Ann H. LeFevre - It looks like some sort of light deflector, reflector, or diffuser, possibly a section of glass over a lantern or street lamp. It's a great shot because of the way the light is hitting it. One spot may look hollow or smooth and another solid and raised. Great game!! Sudoko for the eyes!

Thanks for popping by here. Your comments and interest are really appreciated.
Take care.
A tube of pain or glue or something along those lines

That would be paint even... a tube of pain...now there's something!
March 14th, 2012

March 14th, 2012

Looks like the bottom of a lightbulb

It does look like a tube of something like silver polish or glue, but that would be too obvious and definitely not the mind bending shots I'm used to in this game. So, what could it be????? I want to say it's a floodlight, but the connecting section isn't going the right way. Hmmmm.... to me it actually looks like the top of a bottle, but because it's made of metal it makes me think it must be the container for something chemical or acidic like turpentine. I think you got me on this one!

Tube of glue? Tube of artists' paint? I'm just off to B&Q and the art shop to check. :-)
It certainly *looks* like one of those tubes of something where you have to pierce the nozzle and then the contents ooze out over everything.
March 14th, 2012
I also think it looks like a screw top of a light bulb ???????????/
March 14th, 2012
Aluminum water bottle. Or a tube of paint or some other item that would come in a metal tube.
March 14th, 2012
It looks like a fresh glue container.
March 14th, 2012
oil container
March 14th, 2012
It's a sealed tube of something like garlic puree or ointment.
March 14th, 2012
Oooh ...OR Bonjela!
March 14th, 2012
Great shot... I'm going with the majority here and saying it's a metal tube of something. :)
March 14th, 2012
this looks like a tube of glue
March 14th, 2012
one of the metal canisters that holds your developing chemicals and such

A tube of summat (cheese, tomato puree - although most of all it reminds me of a Swedish "caviar" tube).
March 14th, 2012
is it a screw in globe.
March 14th, 2012
My guess is a propane container that attaches to a portable grill.
March 14th, 2012
New liner for your thermos flask!
March 15th, 2012
A lightbulb whose bottom fell out which allowed all the light to escape, therefore leaving the top (rounded) part dark and dreary.
March 15th, 2012
I thought it is a transparent plastic bottle.
March 15th, 2012
Looked like a bottle to me. Excellent shot though.
March 15th, 2012
Love the minimalism . . great lighting and shadow work. Metal tube of something (maybe something for a camera?) Or something good like pate´ ... :)
March 15th, 2012
Very tube like
March 15th, 2012
I like the lighting. I looks like a bottle with the lid missing to me.
March 15th, 2012
It looks like the liquid plastic bubble stuff you put at the end of a straw. Can you tell I have kids! :)
March 15th, 2012

March 15th, 2012

March 15th, 2012
