Interesting you should post candles in black and white today. I was noodling around with some of the same for an Advent devotional I will be writing for church. I wanted to get some "practice" shots in before I do the final draft. I like the composition of this one.
@archaeofrog - As I deal with a very large number of photographs it is easier to batch process them to a set state (low-level) rather than deal with them in different ways for different purposes. I just don't have time to process individual files for individual purposes and sites. It is just one set of info left to deal with each time I work on something.
It's even more beautiful on close up. The light really makes the holders gleam and shine. The light halo around the one candle really stands out too. Hope you did well in your competition.
