I have been working on a project about tattooing. I have learnt a little about the technical and the skill. What surprises me is the huge variety of inks and colours as well as methods of tattooing. It really is a fascinating art form. Mind you, I still don't want one of my own!
Taken in September, processed today.

@summerfield - I guess that adorning yourself with art is another way of distinguishing yourself from the rest. It is a sort of permanent jewellery I suppose. It is that permanence that puts me off though!
I am amazed, too, at all those colours used in tattoos - never imagined this. I wouldn't want them on my bod y either. But today's youngsters compete on who has the best or most of them.
What a lot of colours and ink! Cool!
There was a reality programme - Miami Ink, I think it was called - about tattooing. A lot of people cited marking life milestones or respect for significant people in their lives as reasons for having tattoos.
I had mine done shorty after reaching 50and being fitted with hearing aids. Not trying to hold back the years exactly, more like kicking over the traces a little.
