Waddesdon Manor is an interesting country house near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK. It is built in a variety of styles, but there appears to be a distinct French influence, the building looks like a Château. Formally the residence of the Rothschild framily, the manor houses thier fabulous collection of antiquities and wines.
I went there to see the collection and was also very impressed with the grandeur and architecture. However, there are lots of photos that I could show you but you are able to see much of the place online. The official website is at: http://www.waddesdon.org.uk/index.html
The wall detail I have photographed here struck me as most unusual. It is three false arches with an integral in-fill. However, the in-fill is so ornate - it is exquisite. I could find no explanation for such a feature and it seemed to me to be such a lovely piece of work. It is one among many unique features of the buiding. So for your interest, this photograph provides an opportunity to look at three false arches... Enjoy!

Beautiful shot of a beautiful building. I like how you chose a piece to focus on so we see more of the detail. I really love older buildings and especially Churches in the UK. It's amazing to stand in some of those buildings and realize they're over 1,000 years old.
very interesting, thanks! being a student of architecture, I sometimes appreciate this kind of stuff :-) did you use a cell phone camera or did you downsize it later? it doesn't go any larger when I click the "view large" button.
@mg 'twas cropped from a larger segment. I admit the rest of this shot was a bit boring. So I decided to isolate the part that was really eye catching.
