Wood is one of the great wonders of our world. So diverse, wonderfully adaptable to so many things, so beautiful - just perfect for so much in our lives. Why then are we destroying the worlds forests?

I've always found wood grain beautiful. In the last storm, I had about 40 huge hardwood go down and I can give the wood away. It hurts to see it lie and rot. Your picture shows the grain in a beautiful way. Nice shot.

from what i understand, us building dams has caused more damage to the worlds forests because of the results on global atmosphere. selective cutting only way to save them now and some loggers do not conform. beautiful photo.
