The link takes me to one that looks the same as this. If the lighting is different in the two similar ones, it's just not showing up on my screen. If it's cropping, then it isn't enough to make a difference, for me.
@susiemc - No, you are right. That piece of timber is completely incongruous with the lovely finish and curves of the rest. It is very distracting. So I just had to take it out.
This one is hands-down the better of the two. That block in the upper left ruins the other one in my compositional opinion! But I confess I had to toggle back and forth between the two for a bit before I figured out what was bothering me about the first one.
@olivetreeann - Yes, I made the same mistake. That is why I published this one first. It just bothered me when I finally realised what the problem was. So, had to do the second one. Well, shows how even a seasoned eye can miss things.
@netkonnexion How true! We just had a speaker at our photo club who was also expressing that. And then she showed us some of her "mistakes" and how she fixed them in Photoshop. Very enlightening!
