Hope yesterdays "Identify This!" was not too taxing.

Actually you were all wrong. Well, nearly wrong. Those who got orange get a slight nod. @mikegl71 got it nearly right. I suppose it was the best that you could do given the bokeh. It was in fact...
A clementine - which is a variety of tangerine.

If I am fair you could not possibly have identified it from an orange the way it was. I must admit, after seeing your answers I really would like it to have been an egg yolk. That was an innovative answer.

Hope it was fun. Enjoy this one today.

I think it's a piece of wood that has been sliced to show the rings inside. Now I'm off to Google cuttlefish... @asrai

I agree with cuttlefish bone. But only because I googled it. I don't know that I've ever actually seen one.

Awesome detail! Seeing the image of the cuttlefish bone I think I have to agree.

Used to have a caged, talking budgerigar until I developed an allergy to it - and it's definately a cuttlefish bone.

Whatever it was, there aren't any in Long Island Sound... I hope!
