Love this shot, great high key. The poppy looks beautiful and view of the lane. With my constructive criticism hat on I wonder about cropping it a bit. To draw more attention to the poppies but keep the lane in sight, not sure...might be worth playing around
@andrewkru@gigiflower@rachelwithey I agree Rachel. When shot these I hadn't found the guide lines for composition on my new camera and felt rather lost without them. Had them on all the time on my old one even if I didn't use them. Managed to find them in the menu set up last night so hoping to feel more in control of my composition now. This was with auto focus which I was not used to either, got manual focus sorted now too. I love it Andrew. It arrived on Wednesday so not played with it outside of the house yet but the image quality is amazing compared to my old one. I never posted sooc my images always needed contrast and saturation boosting. This time the quality is amazing on the few I have shot. So light but feels so beautiful in my hands. I am in love with it.
So this is the first with the GX7? Love the feel of the poppies and grasses. I agree about the crop. I think square format would look good with the other side of the lane taken out. It might enhance the dreamy gentle feel of your main subject(s).
@yrhenwr Yeah one of the first...found the place to change format. Not sure if noticed (may or may not.....anyhow) I LOVE square format and I take a lot of images that way. I'm not great at cropping post shooting but do shoot in the four different formats my old lumix had and now discovered where to change on new I feel ready to take on the world again...
@newbank Oh! You can change format in camera? Wonder if I can with mine? I often know that I will want square and try to frame the shot so that it will work out right in processing! The world awaits you…!
I have just read more about the GX7in dpreview … and now I am even more envious! A SILENT shutter release option AND in-camera stabilisation! Decent low light performance too! Add those lovely lenses……. well I can dream, can't I?
