Feeling a bit lost with my photography. Not much time for it and unsure of my direction but know that I'm missing it loads. So I'm going back to what I enjoyed best and that's capturing my boys. Our everyday normal life. The small details. Like littlests first slide down the new slide with his favourite green shoes and minion socks on.
For the longest time I felt like I couldn't *just* photography my children. I looked for other things I loved... but always came back to the boys. What could I possible love more than them? I've officially given myself permission to call myself a "photographer" (of my children).
I just wish I had discovered photography when my two were much younger. They both refuse to be photographed now. I love your images. Instantly recognisable. You have a definite style - a bloody good one!
Love this. We can't all be inspired photographers so just do what you like best which is this. Mine are mainly of my garden and family but its what I enjoy. Its an enjoyable hobby not a competition
You will be so thankful when your boys are grown & as old as mine that you have all these perfect littke cameos of their childhood.......what else is photography for? Lovely shot Ruth.
Ruth your photos of your boys are always wonderful and often make me smile for which I am grateful! You have your own style and your shots are easily recognised as yours which is a great place to be in your photography! I have yet to find my style! You should be enjoying your photography and you will always have these treasured shots to look back on - and smile! Fav!
Your pov and light are wonderful, and the shot is so human and touching, it's a fav for me. I love the shots you take of your boys and I don't get tired of them.
Super shot, I really like your crop on this. You have a wonderful body of work of your boys, i wish I had discovered photography when my two were younger, they tolerate me taking pictures of them now as long as it is not too much.
This shot suggests that you are not completely lost, Ruth. Feeling that way is unsurprising after 707 uploads in less than 15 months. Perhaps looking back on some of those earlier ones might help? Imagine taking them in different directions?
This shot is inspired and it shows.
trued the tic tacs last night lol
