Another from yesterdays bike ride. View of the power station in the distance, it is the sight of home. It will vanish soon when it is decommissioned. I think strangely I will miss it. The steam from the chimneys when it is on makes for some pretty skies on the school run in the morning. I think the power station might just still be there till the end of school runs. There are not many of them left really!
It's the same story for our local power station, Fiddlers Ferry, that closed down about 18 months ago. I always thought it was a bit premature, and given the the power supply problems that we are now facing, I think I was right.
