Hand in hand, through the woods. by newbank

Hand in hand, through the woods.

Was trying to capture the light streaming through the trees on our walk today when saw the boys all framed through the trees ahead. Ran to catch up, one chance before they walked to far ahead. Not the best but I still kind off like it. Hope you're not all bored of shots of the kids!
Adore this. Super framing. A gorgeous story shot. A fav!

Lovely shot, Ruth, beautifully composed. The light and the figures work together to create the focal point, which tells a nice story too. Exposure and processing are spot on so as to reveal some detail - just enough so as not to be a distraction - in the foreground. I love woods - looking forward to seeing more.

@yrhenwr if you had seen the original this is taken from you'd not have such a high opinion of me!! It was dreadfully dread...

@newbank Whatever you did to re-work it worked! That's legitimate! I have always thought we should aim to get it right in camera (and I think you are trying to do that too). 2 reasons (at least): (i) the more we mess with it the more we will likely degrade the image (ii) any time spent messing with software could be better spent doing something else, as far as I'm concerned!

@yrhenwr I am. With the gx7 teaching myself to shoot in manual and get results nearer to what I want straight away. Harder to do manual with my compact. And less quality in the images....
