This is a classic Kiwi view and is seen on loads of postcards and tourist leaflets. It's the rim of the Champagne Pool (which had all the steam coming out of it in yesterday's Artist's Pallette photo) at Wai-o-Tapu thermal area near Rotorua. The water is so hot you can see it's bubbling.

Rotorua is quite an unusual place to visit if you're from overseas like me and not used to seeing thermal areas. This thermal park has some awesome coloured pools and rocks and moon-like landscapes.
