There was a bit of drama with the cake when the design that had been painted on started to run. So a friend came to the rescue and painted the whole bottom tier gold. It actually looked lovely and fitted the black, white and gold theme perfectly.
@agedrunner@phil_howcroft@888rachel@rickster549 Thanks very much. I think the cake started to sag a bit too because it was a chocolate sponge so not very stable - can't beat a decent fruit cake for something like this, I think!
