My older daughter had hoped to come back to NZ for a holiday this Christmas. It would have been the first time I'd seen her for two years. Sadly it wasn't to be with the Covid situation so she and her boyfriend joined us by Facetime instead. Whilst technology is amazing, and I do appreciate it normally, on Christmas day it felt like a poor substitute. :( However, they made us laugh in their matching reindeer onsies!
yeah nick it kind of is a poor substitute. our three boys are stuck in sydney and london so it was just the two of us, first time ever - but we did play games on zoom and tried to make the best of it. do hope you'll be able to see them soon. they look like fun!
@pistache so many people were separated this year. @wakelys it was lovely to seeing their smiling faces. @ricksnap that’s the plan. 🤞🏻 @happypat we have a lot to be thankful for in NZ compared to many other places. @dutchothotmailcom hopefully things will be able to return to normal in time now the vaccinations have started in some parts of the world @susiemc definitely an improvement on the old days of snail mail and phone calls. She’s in Cardiff and loving city life after living in a very quiet town in NZ. @rickster549 it’s amazing how normal virtual get together have become @onewing I really hope we can beat this pandemic now there’s a vaccine and hope she can visit in the next year or so.
