Treasuring my determination

I had to have Buster at the vet early this morning because he is being desexed today. The poor baby is going to be feeling very sore and sorry for himself.

I dropped Sophie at school, Paige is home sick, and went to Lake Burley Griffin to run bridge to bridge. I have walked this many times however today was the first time I have run the 5km loop. I was determined to do it, set myself a goal and felt so good when I made it back to my starting point. I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

I wasn’t fast but I wasn’t trying to break any records. I wanted to see if I could do the run which I did without stopping. I now have a baseline time, 35 minutes, that I can focus on improving on.

The Mother’s Day classic is being held at this location in May and I will be participating in my first fun run. Who would have thought I would be doing something like this! If I can get my time down to 30 minutes by May I will be very happy.
Good job!!

Great determination. The Mother’s Day classic was the first fun run that I ran, a few years ago. I’m not much of a runner but running in that event again is on my list of things to do :)
