Managing the flood plain

The water running in front of this wall is run off from our local fields. Our local town flooded badly many years ago and all the old water routes were dredged out to help ensure it never happened again. Sometime the water still gets pretty high, especially after last weekends storms.

Good to hear that clearing the water channels has worked. Here in York they are busy building higher flood defences!
