Patience or Fortitude

Patience and Fortitude are the names of the pair of lions at the doors of the New York Public Library. They have been there since 1911. They were named by New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia during the Great Depression to represent the attributes New Yorkers needed to get through the Depression.
They are living up to their names.

Showed them to my granddaughter a few years ago for the first time when I took her to NYC - I remember seeing them as a child. Neat shot
