Red bench, pink pants, yellow line by northy

Red bench, pink pants, yellow line

Since it's been a fairly craptastic day all around, I'm going to go ahead and post this mess... it's selective colouring, which i rarely do... and i'm not sure it works... it was kind of a desperate measure while trying to come up with a response to my push this week... Jeff (@jsw0109) challenged me to "capture something on the street with bold colors"... i srsly doubt this is what he had in mind, but the city was a very drab and dreary place today!

i do have an idea for something that might work, but i didn't quite get what i needed for it today, and this is what i was left with... mea culpa and all that...

Another ghastly mess may be found in my main album...

I am again reminded of two basic principles of photography:
1. follow the light
2. keep it simple

Failed miserably on both accounts today!

Thank you so much for the lovely comments about my landscapes from yesterday...
Great pov

This isn't your best work that's for sure ;o) Although I don't think it's unsalvageable. The POV and composition are good but I don't think the SC worked in this instance. If you were to remove the colour I think it would be ok (I hope you don't mind me being opinionated!) xx

Wow. Fantastic shot and great POV

I think if you just left the red in the photo it would work much better - I actually think the light and composition are great - it is just those purple trousers are very distracting! But then I dont mind the odd bit of selective colouring!!

I like it...works for me. Amazing that you only had one person disembarking the subway!

Love the yellow line!
Think you're being a little hard on yourself. ;)

Craptastic. SUch a great word. This is not though - I think the SC works well in bringing out the bold colours.

Oh... this SC isn't half bad!

I like the bold colours, except maybe for the pink/purple trousers. I like it.

There is a shot lurking here! I am not sure what, but I trust that you can find it... Potential!!!!

@psychographer tx Lisa... i do not mind at all! i always always appreciate honest feedback...

I like the pop of red inside the doors!

I think the trouble with this sc, is that there are too many elements you chose to color. I think it would be better off with just the red bench or the red inside the doors. The photo is good though.

I like the selective colour processing you've done here. Nice lines, too. ;-)

Such a cool shot

I actually rather like this one. Great way to zest it up with the selective coloring.

love this, angles are so good and those pops of colour ;-)

I love this. Great selective colour. Would also love to see it with just the two...red and yellow...great pov too.

Not failed at all! The composition is good, the lines are good, the light is good. Not a fan of colour popping myself, but it sort of works here because it is believable... the rest of the scene I can imagine was fairly black and white. The yellow and red are clear and obvious, yet the pink pants which should be central to the shot are less obvious... but it could be my eyes that are the problem!
