"I am the Walrus"

don't you see the resemblance? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walrus

I blame 365 for this entirely... before 365, i didn’t know anything about dof or flash exposure compensation... i thought nifty fifties and off-camera flashes were for "professionals"... and i’d never heard of bokeh, much less knew how to produce it on demand... as for processing in black and white – before 365, that was a one click effort in PSE... so uhm, yeah... here’s to you, 365!
my favorite scissor shot so far. FAV

For me, great shot! Shows how much you now know, and I hope to develop. The bokeh circles are a little harsh on the edges, but I guess that comes with the lens?

Love your creativity and imagination..... brilliant and a fav!

You are incredibly clever. If I were asked to do a combination shot of the Beatles theme and the mundane scissors challenge
Oh yeah, you have bokeh and it is b&w .
Awesome creativity!

Great challenge shot!! Lovely bokeh!
December 15th, 2012
Wonderful shot! I must get a scissor shot...hope I feel better tomorrow...no creativity going on at present....that part of my brain must be behind the congestion!
December 15th, 2012
@frankhymus i expect the harshness is more related to the fact that i've got my camera settings to a higher level of sharpening than average... i don't seem to play well in the soft area of photography and rarely bother to try :)

Great scissorism.

Very creative Northy. I'm with you on the bokeh, but b&w is still a one click fix for me!! So much to learn, one year is definitely not enough!

hehe... I didn't know about those things either... this past year has been a MASSIVE learning curve for me... but it's been fun. This is awesome, love your take on it and great bokeh (ps... how much fun is it to produce it on demand teehee)... really well done all round for this shot.

Very cool composition. Definitely walrus-like. ;)
December 16th, 2012

Excellent. How about Strawberry Fields (in December!) or back in the USSR! Dare I suggest happiness is a warm .... no perhaps not!

December 17th, 2012
@northy I keep coming and checking this out... it really is super cool. Ps... was thinking more about bokeh, seeing as it's floating around a lot right now... this time last year, I'd been doing the project for 1 month... with my phone... around now had literally just got my camera and no idea of how to do bokeh... it just blows the mind to think how much we can learn just by being part of 365 and having some wonderful people and photographers around... you are one of both of those.
December 17th, 2012
@ozziehoffy awwww... thank you Cassandra... right back atcha! and if i am any good at photography at all, it's all due to this community :)
