i'm feeling like i am merely imitating myself these days... feel free to ignore... carry on!
(yer basic subway shot... too much noise... cropped majorly... processed from RAW in LR5 and converted to black and white in nik silver efex using high contrast preset, red filter and blue toner)
what really catches my eye (after I looked away from the lady in shades coming toward you on the left) is the reflection of the person in the 2nd window. For that alone I have to fave this
The reflections are interesting, especially that one lady... I feel like the "reality" on the left side is a bit distracting from the reflections, maybe a crop there (with a bit of croppety-crop from bottom too to keep the image proportions in check) ?
You could do the shot for the contest using train window reflections only ? People can't be recognized, you'd get the train in the shot (the trains are red&white ?) and you can easily avoid being fluffy :)
I really like this. I love the lines and there is so much interest. I think just because you choose the same subject doesn't meant its the same photograph.
I don't find anything here distracting at all, i think it is a great image. Also interested to hear about what you think about the upgrade to LR5 and potential problems with Nik....
@amyspada i'm not the best person to speak on LR5 upgrade as i really only ever scratched the surface of LR4... but so far no issues, and i LURVE the upright feature... i only ever use PSE to get to the nik plugins (i tried once in LR4 and got confused about where the edited image was and haven't tried since ;p)
@janim yes - good idea about the reflections... tx :)
