I am not sure if this photo does justice to the incredible vista at Snow Canyon... we only found this particular view because of an earth geocache - and what a worthwhile find it was!
Snow Canyon is just outside St. George Utah, where we stayed for a couple of days before joining the Backroads tour group... we dragged the boys here for some practice hiking, and when they were getting cranky, decided to do some geocaching to keep 'em going... this vista was truly breathtaking...
I've added a couple other shots from our visit to this canyon in my other albums... sorry folks, i will try really really hard not to spam your feeds - but there were just so many glorious sights in canyon country!
@archaeofrog tax Katie :). Turns out an earth geocache isn't a treasure box with a log to sign... It's a place of vista to see... It took me a while to figure that out and the boys were a bit disappointed at first, but it was definitely a hugely worthwhile find... It was absolutely magical in real life!
Gorgeous!!! Reminds me of my roadtrip thru Nevada and Eastern California! Hey, I'm gonna be in Canada soon, maybe Ottawa or Toronto or Montreal..? I havent decided yet...
This has the strange effect on me of looking hand tinted early twentieth century black and white image. Maybe because the subject is timeless having looked this stunning for eons.
Anyhoo, my challenge to you is a self portrait. You tackled Vivian Maier style for street photography but some of my favourite images of hers were the self portraits. Yours does not need to emulate her and neither does it need the whole of your or your face. But it needs to represent you. Enjoy!
Wow - viewed large this is beyond breath-taking and well into heart-stopping - I can't believe the size and scope of this vista - the only real clue to the size is the road - fav for it's sheer beauty!
@so_lo_webb hey Lois... just so you know - i saw your challenge and i'm working on it... i've done two selfies this week, but didn't much like either of them... i might need to wait for the weekend when i am back home and have a little more flexibility for this :)
Looks like a scene from an old western, only better
