if those walls could talk... by northy

if those walls could talk...

some detail inside the Grand Canyon... for some reason, they look like screaming faces to me (have i lost it?)... this was taken mid-morning, not at night - despite the black sky... the skies were a brilliant blue... i used the red filter when converting to black and white which produced this effect....

we hiked into the Grand Canyon down the North Kaibab Trail... i went down to the Supai Tunnel which is about 1400 feet down from where we started on the rim - about 1.7 miles walking... going down was a piece of cake... coming up was brutal... warm gatorade actually tasted good! my husband went down even further, and the three 20-somethings in our group went down even further still...

here is the link to the colour version if you're interested

i've added another shot from our Grand Canyon visit in my other album - if you're interested and can stand it ;p

Love the texture and strength - but, disturbingly, my first thought was trapped souls from the beginning of time.

I definitely prefer the B&W. And yes, I absolutely see faces.
Good for you, hiking down. I was not up for a hike and we didn't really have much time anyway. It must be amazing to experience the canyon from below the rim.

@pasadenarose it's really rather unreal... i kept feeling like i was in the "journey to the centre of the earth" or something... except for the dinosaurs... and giant bumblebees... ;p
