pop 'n swirl by northy

pop 'n swirl

another one for the technique challenge... not quite so stylish as the one from last week, but i kind of liked the swirly swoosh of the water on this one...

a balloon popped by my husband... processed in LR5, converted to bw in nik silver fx with blue toner added...

in the interests of full disclosure i should add that i've discovered that my camera has a setting that lets me take a gazillion shots per second... well - not quite that many, but still a whole bunch... which makes getting this kind of shot relatively easy...

Great idea! I was about to compliment you on your great timing, but then I read the end of your caption! :) If you have one with more thread in it, you should tag it for the mundane challenge.

Hi Northy. I remember you posting a while back about traveling with your ipad. I am leaving in 2 weeks for Nova Scotia and PEI and just bought a camera connector for our ipad so I can download my pictures. Did you do this as well? How did you convert your pictures from raw to jpeg? any other info I might need for traveling with my camera and ipad?

@atooner hi Amy... i don't think that was me talking about using the ipad for this... other than i was looking into using an ipad for shutter control... but i couldn't figure out how i could make it do what i needed and ended up going with a laptop instead... wish i knew the answer tho - i'd be interested to here if you ever figure it out... your trip sounds wonderful, btw :)

This is fantastic -- love the focus, bw, and composition. The hand is a great touch.

Nice timing and love the processing. I am addicted to Nik Silver efex, I love it! And yay for teamwork!! Haha if I could only get my other half to help me out long enough...he sort of lacks that patience required :)
