@archaeofrog tx Katie... actually, they really were crowded together, and there were so many more there than are in this frame... there wasn't a good angle to get the lot of them in, so i tried for a bit of detail instead :)

@riverlandphotos tx :) no, not lying down... it was pissing down rain at the time and the ground was pretty yuck... i actually think i had the camera on the tripod for this... the light was pretty sucky, and i was trying to balance getting decent quality with shutter speed to avoid too much motion blur
