another subway station shot from the weekend... crazy busy day today running around for work, and tonight i need to get a few things done tonight... so a filler once again... hope to have time to pick up the camera tomorrow...
tx for the wonderful response to my post from yesterday... i've missed the subways over the last few months, so it was nice to get out there again over the weekend, even if only for an hour or so...
i forgot that the distillery district has a christmas marketplace happening until the 21st. we should probably give it a go before it closes this weekend. last year i got a nice pic of the carousel. if you want. if we have the time.
@summerfield yes - that's where colleague suggested going for nighttime street shots... have to see if i can get out this saturday night... might be iffy... friday night might be an option... and possibly sunday... thursday is a possibility as well i think... do you have a preference?
we can go any night you want but i prefer thursday or friday. methinks we're going to london on sunday, not sure. was practicing tonight with ISO 400 handheld taking pics of buildings enveloped in fog. as usual, fail! hahahaha!
Very cool - love the dark & contrasting lights. I have to say that you have been building a "style brand" in my mind. I look at the photos before I see it I will guess it is you and I'm often right!. I am so playing with the idea of getting back in those get pushed challenges - I miss doing them! I may start them after the Christmas season, but then I will get a challenge to stand outside and take landscapes when it is below zero.
You could post images like this every day and I would be happy. Kathy @myhrhelper is right, you have a very distinctive 'style brand' which I personally like a lot. The dark moodiness of your images poses lots of questions and you understand the power of including a balancing human figure into what otherwise might just be a featureless dystopia.
@judithg tx Judith... yes - handheld... not sure it is really that sharp... 1/60s at f/4 w. iso 1600! the power of lightroom perhaps? or more likely the stark b/w contrast and the smidgeon of toner... it tends to give depth and sheen which i think mask a number of ills...
@jyokota@taffy ok guys... you're gonna have me blushing and hiding under my desk now... yeeeeeesh! Taffy - your black and white train shots are spectacular!

Dang! I've talked myself into a Fav.
