the line up

got a lens baby for Christmas and i'm trying to figure out how it works... seems a manual focus lens may not have been the smartest idea for someone with completely sucky eyesight! ;p
Oooh enjoy - which one did you get? I'm just looking up optic kits to spend my xmas money on.... Focus looks great to me

Had to laugh as I have the same problem! Go with and learn to love the blur. Good first post and looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Great capture..

Wow, a lensbaby. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. At least if you slightly miss with the focus with one of those it still looks great.
Oh yes, I love this shot too.

I laughed, too, because I have the same problem! But @vankrey has taught me that it takes a lot of practice, and most of all, figuring out the "genre" in terms of what and how to photograph that's for a different effect. For example, I figured out that photographing groups of people is NOT usually a good idea, but photographing in a bright video arcade was fun! (I just tried to find the photo I planned to show you and it's only on the student travel blog and I hadn't posted it to 365 yet so I'll be doing a flurry to posts and will tag you on the lens baby one.) HAVE FUN!

I like this -- I have a long way to go with my lens baby - focusing manually is hard for me, too.

@taffy @jyokota tx... i feel like i need a lens baby support group right now ;p i actually do like strategic blur, and often add it in in post, so i'm expecting this to be a bit frustrating until i figure out how to control it!

Junko - please do tag me when you post your shot... i would definitely be interested!

Well, I think you nailed it, beautiful image Northy. I think the lensbaby intimidates me :)

@northy @bankmann uses lensbaby really effectively. Have you seen his shots? I've studied his use of the lb with architecture and it was helpful to me.

Here's an example: http://365project.org/bankmann/365/2014-11-03
He doesn't do extreme blur, which I like.

Wonderful capture... Love the lighting!

Ugh, I so dislike blurry lb images. You've got the dark horse perfectly focused. I'm just no fan of lens babies. Sorry, it isn't you, it's me.

I love this shot and how the chess pieces have caught the light. I know what you man about eyesight, I've got cataracts and that is problematic!
December 27th, 2014
Ohh baby, love this--- enjoy the new toy!:)
