i know I've done this before, but it kind of needed to happen... if not for the kitchenalia thing (which this is too late for), then at least for the shadow technique thing...

this is backlit... with a piece of paper between the chess piece and forks and the camera... what you are seeing are the shadows projected (?) onto the piece of paper from behind...

Cool, I like this technique very much. But my pictures are never so fabulous. I also like that it is a little bit creepy. Could right be out of a nightmare.

@northy Thanks for the answer. I was thinking maybe something like that florist foam stuff but it seemed like it would take a lot of that to fix that many forks.

@gardencat actually- florist foam would probably be a great solution... I doubt you'd need a piece bigger than 8x8 inches
