eggsperiment

i'd say "lemme explain"... except, you know, i really have no explanation... other than wanting to try a concept suggested by Brooke Shaden in her White Wall Wednesday videos which is basically to build space in photoshop... which i think i've more or less accomplished :)

I think that you got this eggzactly right... it's mysterious and surreal and your edit enhances that. (I watched some of the videos from the link - she's undoubtedly very talented but her videos are more of a showcase for that talent rather than instructional, I think.)

Super processing, this is awesome.

@taffy tx Taffy... mostly i just expanded the background in photoshop... in the original my dresser is a few inches to the left of my hand and you could see the bed to the right of my foot... and you could only see half the window :)

@vignouse i agree with your assessment of her videos... her enthusiasm gets old after a while ;p i do find her work rather inspirational however... and i'd just been moaning about the fact that i have no "space" in the house for photos... so the concept of creating the space in photoshop had some appeal :)

@northy I watched the first couple of her videos. There's some interesting ideas there - but I think her idea of "a tiny space" and mine are very different! I couldn't think of a single corner in my house where I could do this without moving tonnes of furniture or with sufficient distance to the subject. It's something I find a lot in 'new world' videos (I can't think of a better geographic description -sorry!) where their "little home set up" is bigger than the footprint of my house. ;)

Sue
I have watched the first 2 of her videos, but I realise that I have an awful lot to learn in photoshop before I could even contemplate attempting anything like this. I love what you have done with it though. Fav

Thanks for sharing the before and after photos - I really like the final edit and I don't really shop anything - I'd have struggled to work out what you did... but it really works nicely.
