this is sooc, for the ongoing experiment organized by @vignouse of shooting with a nifty fifty (25mm on the micro 4/3) sooc... for the month of September...
@humphreyhippo the levels thing is EXTREMELY maddening... am i paying more attention to the horizon? not sure - i've been paying attention to the horizon since Jani and Jase pointed it out to me back in 2012 (;p)... my main challenge is the verticals... and the periphery... i've gotten so used to composing with the assumption that i will be doing at least a smidgeon of cropping that i am forever forgetting to look at the edges before i shoot...
@humphreyhippo i'm also struggling with how flat the images end up... not sure if there's in camera settings that can address that... something to work on i guess...
All the reasons why you want to stop are precisely the reasons why you should carry on... you and your talent are much bigger than my puny little challenge ;-))
@vignouse have to agree with Richard here, its painful but no pain no gain. I am sure there much be some adjustment in camera for contrast and such as there is on my old canon
@kali66 tx Kali... I'm hoping the benefit will eventually materialize... there is indeed a contrast adjustment, which I have set as high as it can go... at some point I will experiment w a static subject, consistent light and varying settings... and keep track of what I have chosen... today was not that day :)
@shesnapped hi Ashley... actually the picture i was referring to is a completely different shot of a different subject... not an edited version of this one...
Out of interest, is this challenge making you pay more attention to if the horizon is straight?
