for get pushed this week, @aecasey challenged me to try a vortograph... a vortograph is accomplished by shooting thru a set of mirrors strategically positioned around the lens... i do have some small mirrors, but they don't fit together in the way they need to... i stopped in at a beauty supply store today, and they were all out... i will try a craft store on the weekend, but in the meantime, i thought i would experiment with tinfoil... i covered a piece of cardboard with tinfoil and hooked it on to my lens and shot thru it... with this result... decidedly *not* a vortograph, but i kinda liked the effect anyway... i may well experiment further with this :)
@aecasey - *not* a vortograph, but tagging it anyway because i was experimenting trying to figure out ways to macgiver one without the proper equipment :)
intriguing technique. i heard about this today on the bus as a couple of young kids with their cameras in tow were discussing their photography. then here you are with this term. must look further on this and learn it. maybe. perhaps. lemme know about the weekend.
( ? do you have flexible cooler style lunch-boxes in Toronto or does it not get that hot?? ? car windscreen sunshields...or maybe an off-cut of of foiled insulation ?)
This is the first time I have heard of a Vortograph. Interesting concept. I think your use of foil has a unique effect of its own. Great setup for using the foil.

@dmdfday thank you ... and thank you for letting me know... I may have to go back and fix it now! ;p
