today's prompt for the one week only challenge set by @summerfield is "close up architecture"... i wasn't quite sure what this meant, so i looked it up... and realized that it is often quite abstract... so off i went to visit one of my favourite bits of architecture - the absolute towers in Mississauga... you can see a more distant view here: https://365project.org/northy/365/2016-02-26
i knew it was you the moment i saw the top of the photo in my feed, and i knew it was the absolute tower. yes, kinda trippy looking at it. aces, my good friend. aces!
I truly enjoy your work, and find it so professional which makes it difficult to give you a get pushed challenge that you have not already mastered. So, I did some research last night, and slept on it.
I really like the work of Bert Monroy – it is so intricate. Here is a quote from the article I added:
So, your challenge is to replicate either Lunch in Tibron or Times Square (using Nathan Philips Square) with the focus on the getting as much depth of field, detail, and clarity into your shot. It needs to be bold and bright – and (ugh for you!) colourful. Or, use any of his wonderful work or his style in your own work.
I know that he is not strictly a photographer, but a digital painter as well – you can incorporate that aspect if you wish. This is a tough challenge – let me know if there is just too much to it for a single week and I will change it to something more realistic.
@farmreporter oh goodness... such a well thought out challenge... and i'm not sure you could get much further from my style than Bert Monroy! ok - i'll see what i can do :)

“Monroy’s work with light and shadows is exceptionally meticulous. He turns everyday scenes into masterpieces by looking at the way light interacts with the objects around it in the same way that photographers should work with light.”
