The idea being to experiment by making various adjustments to the camera settings... the instructions were to take 5 shots but (a) I can't figure out how to make a collage with 5 shots, (b) i really wanted to try high contrast with very low sharpness which was not part of the original assignment and (c) i needed somewhere to channel my rebellious nature ;p
There must be nothing red in the frame? I see almost no difference between 2 and 4, with high contrast and sharpness playing much the same roll? This is a tough one, to find the right subject to show the red effect. Remember your red bag shot from some time ago?
@frankhymus nope... no red... and even if there were, i doubt the filter would have done much given the lighting... i'll have to give this another go with something red and a different lighting set up :)
@northy Yes, I am giving a deal of thought to the best subject to show this off. I have come up with a chair, like you, but draped in a traditional red, black and white Zapotec rug. I'll be trying that tomorrow when I am fresh and hopefully under natural light if this snow gets out of here. I don't know about the blue tone. I really am not an admirer of the effect at all. It will be toned down very severely in my shots.
@frankhymus blue tone sets a mood and is definitely not for everything or everyone :) one of the reasons i like the camera settings challenge is it helps one figure out what the camera can do... but then it's up to you to decide how to use it... it gives you an extra tool to play with
