Old Man Forest by northy

Old Man Forest

The power of the strategic crop... I had been afraid that cropping would lose some of the essence of the tree, but in the end, I think it has worked out ok :)

original is here: http://365project.org/northy/365/2012-09-16

If you are interested in animals, i have a dog in one album and a squirrel in the other...

Fantastic texture on the bark. Love the flare.

The bark looks good but shooting into the sun so boldly doesn't work for me - the burnt out highlights pull my eyes too strongly and there is nothing there to see

Love that light flare - awesome!

I'm sorry but I prefer splodgy tree :o) Still love this but it doesn't have such a strong reaction for me xx

Love the light! So cool!

Is there a shot of the splotchy tree for comparison? I do like this... I'm not one to look at a shot and think crop lol. I take shots to use as they are. Although I can look at another shot and see a crop might help.... how strange.
