Kitchen reno by novab

Kitchen reno

My hubby and I started working on the kitchen backsplash this past weekend and hope to finish it next weekend. Earlier in the fall we had new countertops and new door/drawer fronts installed. I am looking forward to completing the project. :)
Good capture. I know exactly how you feel Nova. Wh have a new roof, exterior painting as we speak, ordering a new front door, need a new front porch and back balcony. My husband is replacing dry rot boards and all of that before we get to some maintenance and replacing flooring on the inside. I wish we had a money tree too!

@novab and @gardenfolk even I could post something along these lines as well!!! Ken took up a rug from in front of the sink, and a board underneath was wet and rotting! We've welcomed insurance folks and rebuilders... and let's add that the tv wasn't working so we had someone out about that too! Time together to relax for the next couple months has been turned upside down!!! We'll go through this together, ok?! My best to the both of you!!! Much to look forward to!

@Weezilou Oh dear, Louise! Being a homeowner is very expensive in the maintenance department! A surprise around every corner! :)

As an electrical engineer this shot filled me with dread Nova, metal exposed in a kitchen then I remembered Canadian homes are supplied at must safer 110 volts than our 240 volts, hope your kitchen is soon sorted:)

@gardenfolk CC, many times over the years we too have said "we don't have a money tree", so your message made me laugh. Two days after I put the hefty deposit on the kitchen reno, we found out we had to replace our old steel oil tank with a new fiberglass one. :o Yes, a money tree would be the perfect answer. Good luck with your home renos too.

@Weezilou Louise, what unpleasant surprises! I hope your home repairs are easily fixed and then you will get that relaxing time that you so need right now. Good luck!

@pcoulson Sorry to freak-you-out Peter, but all is going fine. The plastic cover thingies were replaced once we got all the tiles in place on this wall and my hubby makes sure I'm aware of what is 'live' and not. :)

Brings to mind my husband who was an electrical contractor. Nice close-up of this switch.
