This is a *wonderful* portrait [wrote the father of two grown daughters]!
Hmmm; if *all* the candles were lit, then she would be more ready to blow them out and her chin probably wouldn't be in her hand. This portrait captures *the* moment in time when three were lit, the lighting process was ongoing and your lovely daughter looks more contemplative. FWIW, I think this may be better than the shot you *think* you wanted! ;) Well done, mom!
Lovely portrait of a beautiful young woman. As the mother of 3 young men (well, one turns 30 next month, I am not quite sure when I became old enough for THAT to happen!) watching our children grow into themselves is one of the greatest, most rewarding things I have ever done.
I'm agree with some of the other comments, three is a good number of candles, too many more would have altered the lovely lighting and taken the emphasis away from your daughter. Happy birth day to you,
