Today I delivered the bus to the MAN workshop for service and inspection, and continued my journey home by public transport.
While changing buses at Drammen bus station, I passed the flower shop I often visited when I worked in the Drammen department. Outside, they had hung up these frozen hearts for Valentine’s Day. I knew they usually did this, so I quietly hoped they had done it again this year.
They had.
The delicate petals and small green leaves were captured in ice, suspended between winter and warmth. A brief reminder that even in the coldest season, there are small gestures of care.
While I was photographing them, one of my former colleagues walked by. We ended up sharing a cup of coffee in the break room before I caught the bus that took me all the way home.
