The Slavonian Grebe in winter plumage.
I visited Attenborough nature reserve today and saw this grebe for the first time, It is classified in the UK as red under the birds of Conservation concern and listed a Vulnerable on the Global IUCN Red list of threatened species.
About 30 pairs breed in the UK and 1,100 birds winter here around the coast, this one has decided to winter far from the coast
@susiemc thank you. It was pointed out to me otherwise I would not know what it was, I would like to see it in it's colourful summer plumage. look it up
