Burnished Brass Moth by oldjosh

Burnished Brass Moth

At the end of June with the Buxton Field Club we visited the Lightwood Reservoir to look at moths. Our leader knew about moths and the area well. He bought with him three moths that would be unlikely to see in day time
After we had all seen the they were released back into the wild.
This is the first of them
This is a beauty...

Isn't he gorgeous?
I hope you are enjoying moth trapping, it's addictive. Wait until July when the Swallowtails all emerge and look like tissue paper as they age.

@jesika2 thank you it is lovely, I was on a walk with the Buxton Field club looking at moths and the leader of the walk had trapped some moths the night before so we could see them.
