It seems that every shot I took today came out dark. That's what happens when you forget to reset the camera after shooting candle flames! So, rather than put this shot off for tomorrow, I decided to see what I might be able to salvage of the picture and the concept with some processing. I like the results. It reminds me of a window frame-which is what I wanted to achieve all along. I'll be posting my other results too, but this is the official picture for the S-challenge.
The interesting thing about this picture, is that with the processing factor the results were limitless. But frames themselves are restrictive. The limit your view and bring the picture to an end. Yet at the same time, they can give one a sense of completion or perfection- a finished product. Who knew frames could be so complicated!!
I know what you mean about checking the settings. I've learned the hard way that I can't just pick up the camera and shoot. I have to check the settings first. Photography is so much more than poin and shoot. But, still I find myself excited about getting the picture that I forget.
@mrssmith@bruni@httpgeffed@digitalrn@daveanajao Thank you Carla, Bruni, Colleen, Rick, and Dave. I appreciate every word!! I do like the way this turned out even though it was not exactly what I had planned to do.
@bkbinthecity Thank you bkb! I do have fun playing around with the processing. I know some folks plan from the start how they will process the photo afterwards. For me, processing is more of a "how can I save this photo" proposition! Thanks again!
@karenann Thanks Karenann! @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- that's interesting what you see in it- but that's the beauty of something abstract- there is so much for the imagination to work with!
