Toppled

An acorn squash met its match with my kitchen knife today.
Wonderful collage, Ann. I'm glad that you won the battle!! Hard work, but the reward is healthy and delicious. Lovely photos.

Wow. This is so effective in collage form! Colorful and tells the story of its sad demise.

@karenann Thanks Karenann- (o: I'm always afraid I'm going to cut off a finger! (Even though I'm very careful!)
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@sanera Thanks Samantha- and now to its utter humiliation, it's in my tummy!
@steeler Thanks Howard!
@hinkipunk94 Thanks Sophie- I took alot of pictures from several angles and these turned out to be my favorites.
@mrssmith Thanks Carla- I learned this "trick" from Bonnie Lusted- whenever you're stuck for something to shoot, just cut up the nearest vegetable or fruit. It's worked quite well for me, although my shots aren't as fantastic as hers!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen- me too!
@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth- I was going to choose one shot, but I really liked these four, so I just put them all together. One big happy family!

@flydragon Thank you Flydragon. I hadn't set out to make a collage today, but I couldn't choose one, so I just put them altogether. Looking at it now though, I think I like the third one the best. Oh well...

@alia_801 Thank you Alia- I usually get the all green ones- but these were really pretty- so I bought them for the pictures! They tasted just like the others.
@sarah19 Thanks Sarah!
@cimes1 Haha- rfemember the camera can be manipulated to make things look better than they are (i.e. the camera can lie!).

@summerfield Thank you Summerfield. I haven't been out much this week- it was a handy subject to shoot (or knife as the case may be).

What a beautiful squash! I've never seen one before. I LOVE that first shot in the sequence - those colours are wonderful!
December 13th, 2011
@kloud Thanks Bonnie- I hadn't seen this kind before either. It doesn't taste any different than the green ones- but the minute I saw it, I thought "that would photograph well"- haha- I'm hooked on photographing vegetables!
