I must say these weekly challenges truly seem to fly by! I had this shot all ready to be up-loaded yesterday, but Jeff had commandeered the computer all weekend to type out a report he was working on for our community. So for the first time in months, I missed posting on the proper day. Sigh...
The number seven is a significant number. Not being a gambler, I'm not sure why it's important in that realm, but I have held down a job or two and I know how much people look forward to having that "day off"! Number combos with super 7 are quite popular. Someone who's dependable is there for you 24-7, and here on the East Coast, there's a chain of convenience stores called "7 Eleven" whose claim to fame is based on an slushy beverage called the "Slurpee".
However for me 7 has always been significant because of the times it's mentioned in the Bible. It's considered a sacred number because it came to be associated with rest, completion or perfection. It pops up over and over again in different contexts, not because it has some mystical power, but mainly to drive home a point and remind the faithful of those same attributes in God and His activities. I'm sure that the rhythm of our week was established to reflect the events which take place on the opening pages of Scripture although the reason seems mostly forgotten today.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have all had their day and now it's time to feature 7. And so my week of numbers has come to rest. It is complete. As for perfect, I'll leave that judgment up to you!
Every day of your number challenge has provided great food for thought. My husband tells me that in gambling the number 7 is the most likely combination to appear when rolling dice for the game craps. On the first roll, it's a winner and after that, if it turns up, you lose. See what you can learn on 365?
@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry! @allie912 Thanks Allison! And thanks to your husband for solving that mystery for me!! Yes- I have learned quite a bit here since I started on 365- especially in the bug and wildflower realm! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@daisy Thanks Kathryn! This has been a fun week. On to the next one! @mrssmith Thanks Carla- and yes, you are correct. I thought I should finish the week the same way I started (although it's a different clock).
Nice one for nunber 7..I do really like your thubnails for this week.
I guess I didn't read it right as I continued with number 8 and today number 9..didn't pay attention.. what do I do now..take them away and start with the lines..any suggestions? thanks Ann.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- hmmm, well you could move 8 and 9 to one of your other albums although you will lose the comments that go with them, or you could just start with the verticals tomorrow and not worry about it. Me, I'm a stickler for things being the "right" way so I would probably obsess about the fact that my weekly calendar didn't show the lines all week- but that's ME- and not a suggestion! The easiest solution is probably to just start up with the lines. I suppose you could also go to 14 and then jump into next week's theme which is shapes. Do what you think you might like the looks of best Bruni- don't worry about the challenge too much. @netkonnexion Thanks Netkonnexion! @prttblues Thanks Bev! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! @automaticslim Thanks Andy! @wenbow Thanks Wendy! That was deliberate. I wanted them to stand out from the previous week and the one following. Black and white seemed a good choice for the numbers once I decided to photograph them in the literal sense. @woot Thanks Davide! It's the clock on my dining room wall (minus a few numbers for the challenge's sake!).
@summerfield Don't know how I missed this post! Thanks Vikki! Don't worry- no one makes it through a day without one mistake or sin. It's part of being human! @vposey Thanks Vickie! I had fun with these numbers. I liked doing them all in b/w too.
