Awesome August 30

Last year I had a bumper crop of mushrooms growing in my yard. This year, hardly any! But I'll still miss these fascinating plants when winter hits.

(Posting early as I will not be able to do so in Michigan.)
Beautiful

nice composition, tones of brown, cream and tinges of green. Intriguing plants are mushrooms.

@kandernob Thanks Karen. I was experimenting a bit with this one. It was taken in color, but I converted it to black and white, then faded in the original shot just enough to hint at the green. It's sort of a selective coloring but not exactly.

@kandernob Oh, I mean I put it in sepia to keep the browns, etc.

We're kindred spirits - my other love, mushrooms! I love the muted tones in this one. Nice shot Ann.

@tara11 lol Tara, I never really thought much about them until 365 and the fateful day I decided to put the camera on the ground and shoot underneath. After the amazing results of that shot, I was always on the look out for them! And still am.

Nice capture! I like the very toned down colours :)

I love this. The simplicity of the mushroom just slightly off centre and the soft sunflare behind it. It's just gorgeous. fav.

@filsie65 @alia_801 @edie

Thank you all! Pov accomplished by placing the camera on the ground rather than the photographer who has bad knees! Toned down colors accomplished by changing color shot to sepia and fading original picture back in. Composition is simply following the old "rule of thirds" which gives a picture more visual appeal. And Edie, thank you so much for the fav!!
