this makes for a really awesome abstract. i love those squiggles that are the hem of the curtain, and then the complementing straight lines. great job, ann.
Thank you Bev, Nicole, Janice, Phil, Alia, Simmy, Dione, Vickie, Taffy, Henri, Mandy, Paula, Vikki, Edie, Pam and Pinar! My apologies for being awol a few days- hubby took over the computer! I'm trying my best to get back on track. So glad you all enjoyed the shot.
For those of you who wanted to know what it is- I confess to a little trickery here as I have turned the original shot on its side. The straight lines are slats of the blinds on my bed room window. The brown is the window sill. The white line is a shadow cast by one of the slats on to my sheer curtains which cover the window. The shot has been purposely underexposed to bring out the shadow- which has made it look white. The reason you do not see more slat shadows is because once below the sill, the curtains no longer catch the sun passing through them. Above the sill, the sun is caught more in the folds of the curtains rather than across them (those gray vertical-like stripes). It is an absolutely fascinating effect and really worked well for this shot!
@potsbypam Hi Pam!!! I was just thinking about you the other day- really!! Said a prayer for you and here you are! Thanks for the fav! And good to see you again!!
@vankrey Thank you Michael- I will return the follow! Sometimes I feel my albums are all over the place, but I have fun changing it up all the time. Thanks again- and I look forward to seeing your photos and comments.
Yes, do a week of shadows! I think all of us are fascinated with them... and reflections... and silhouettes. This shot is so creative and just brilliant. Fav!!!
@kali66 Thank you Kali! @violeta Thank you Violeta! And thank you so much for the fav!! I'll see if I can get a thread up to start one on Monday. I'll let you know!
I have to ask: what is it? My head is saying it's some kind of musical instrument, but I think that's just the "wave" at the back that is making me think of sound. Fascinating photo, faved.
@Cheesebiscuit No problem- I enjoy divulging my "secrets"! Here's a recap of what I printed above:

@Cheesebiscuit Oh- don't feel bad about that- I don't always read all the comments and have done the same to other photographers. I love the copy and paste function!!
