I happened to glance out in my backyard, just before I started making dinner, and saw this lone mushroom sticking up through the rocks. I decided to purposely shoot the picture as over exposed to see what would happen to the color.

Very cool composition and exposure. I love reading about your work for this bookclub. I fell so behind, but at some point will finish reading the book.
@nadaa Thank you Nada! This book is good for any time and I will probably read it more than once. I feel like there is so much I didn't absorb. But it has spurred me to step up the game a bit.
I have fallen really behind over the summer especially as we head into the back to school frenzy. I really do miss it because I so enjoy looking at them and I learn so much from what everyone does. So, I try when I can to go through an album and really appreciate all the work and inspiration behind ti.
@nadaa You are spending time on what's most important- your family! You will always have time to learn and do more things with photography. But children grow up and life changes- so you are doing the right thing. When life does slow down though- let me know. I'd love to get together again!
I like the overexposure and the subtle patterns. I bought the book and read the chapters, but haven't had a chance to participate. Oh well, I can still do the exercises on my own.
@lisabell Thank you Lisa! You can always tag your shots after the fact, I don't think anyone would mind. I think I'm going to be going through the exercises on my own too because I feel as if I've only just started to understand some of the things he wrote about. I also did not do all of the exercises he suggested and I think I'd like to do that one with the chair at some point.
