Quechee Gorge is called "The Grand Canyon of Vermont". This picture does give you an idea of how deeply it's cut through the earth, but it really doesn't do it justice. The sky was a bit overcast so I ended up bringing out the beautiful fall colors in post processing. If you look carefully you will see little dots in the farthest section of the gorge- those are people!
Many many thanks to one and all- and a special thanks to those who fav'd!! I'm pretty tired out after my trip and will be entertaining friends today, but when life finally dies down, I'll be getting back into my 365 routine asap! Thanks for your patience and continued support- it means the world to me!!
Instant fav. I especially love the angle and how you captured the winding creek flowing between the lush colorful autumn foliage. Breathtakingly beautiful!!
@cimes1 Thank you Carole! Thank you so much for the fav and the nod on the favorite fav discussion! You are such a faithful follower and I can't really put in to words how much I appreciate that!
@calm Thanks Cathy and thank you so much for the fav! @cathrinemitch Thank you Catherine! And thank you for the fav!!
Thank you all so much- what a thrill to see it pop up on the PP!!
Beautiful shot of the gorge, Ann! It's quite a hike down to the the gorge itself where those people are! I was going to try it one year, but there was no way I could have made it back up if I'd gone down! Very pretty fall colors! You've done the Gorge proud! And it appears you've made the PP! Congrats!
@exposure4u Thank you Wendy- and thank you so much for the fav! @stiggle Thank you Anja! @wildwood28 Thank you Sarah! @cimes1 Thank you again Carole! And thanks again for the fav- it really is fun to see it on the PP! @moreyoulessme Thank you Jerri! @prttblues Thank you Bev! And thanks for steering us in this direction! We really enjoyed seeing it. I knew that I wouldn't be able to make it down the steeper side, so we walked out the trail that led to the reservoir and falls. While I was taking some shots of the reflections in the water, another couple came by and we got to talking with them and they sent us on a short cut to see the Quechee Covered Bridge and that's where we saw the hot air balloons. Great day all around! @homeschoolmom Thanks Lisa! I highly recommend it- and it's not too far from the NH border- just a few minutes off I-89/I-91. I bet it looks pretty in the spring/summer too. @yonnie Thanks Yvonne! And thank you so much for the fav!! @pflaume Thanks Lisa! And thank you for the fav too!
Thank you Nada!
